Falken secures two nominations at 2021 International Motor Film Awards
Falken has received two nominations for its films at the "International Motor Film Awards 2021”
Falken ends a turbulent ADAC TOTAL 24h race at the Nürburgring with both cars in the top 10: Klaus Bachler, Martin Ragginger, Sven Müller and Alessio Picariello celebrated a hard-fought fourth place in the number 44 car. Double starter Klaus Bachler, Dirk Werner, Thomas Preining and Lance-David Arnold (#33) made the top 10 result perfect in 9th place.
The 49th edition of the endurance classic in the Eifel will be remembered for a long time. Torrential rain at the start of the race and a later interruption due to dense fog once again made for exceptional conditions in the "Green Hell".
The two Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R, which started the race from grid positions 28 and 29, quickly found a good rhythm and were able to gain some positions already in the early stages, which were marked by many incidents and changing weather conditions.
When dense fog continued to impair visibility on the track at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, the race organizers decided to interrupt the race after six hours had been completed. At this point, the #44 car was in 14th place, with the #33 following in 16th.
The race was finally resumed on Sunday at 12:30 pm. Both Falken Porsches were able to work their way forward with a clever race strategy and thanks to outstanding track performance, finishing the race in the top 10.
"We were able to fight for the podium until shortly before the end. To bring both vehicles to the finish in these conditions is an extraordinary achievement. I would like to thank our drivers and the entire team as well as our tyre engineers for their great work," concluded Stefanie Olbertz, responsible for motorsport at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH.
The Falken customer team of Max Kruse Racing also celebrated a double finish. Benjamin Leuchter, Andreas Gülden, Christian Gebhardt and Nick Hancke (#10) won the "SP3T" class in their VW Golf GTI TCR ahead of the sister car (#333) with Frédéric Yerly, Matthias Wasel, Jasmin Preisig and Gustavo Xavier at the wheel.
