Falken’s new online fan shop, offering Falken branded merchandise will make Falken fans’ hearts beat faster
For the first time in the history of the Nürburgring Endurance Series a double header takes place on the weekend of 11/12 July 2020: Today, Saturday, the "60. ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen", tomorrow the "52. ADAC Barbarossapreis" will follow. Both races will be held over a distance of four hours.
Falken Motorsports brought two identical Porsche 911 GT3 R to an official race in the Eifel for the first time. The #3 was driven by Thomas Preining and Dirk Werner, in the #4 the long-time Falken drivers Peter Dumbreck and Martin Ragginger took their seats.
The latter was already involved in an accident in the qualifying on early Saturday morning in the "Tiergarten" section of the track, which could be repaired for the race thanks to the nimble mechanics. Dumbreck/Ragginger started from the pit lane to catch up. Preining/Werner in #3 Falken-Porsche circled the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 8:07.731 minutes and started the race from 14th place.
The race start went smoothly for both Falken-Teams. After two hours of the race Preining suddenly came to the pits with a heavily smoking car, the #3 had to be extinguished in the rear area. The reason for this was a damaged oil pipe, which Preining had contracted during an evasive manoeuvre. Unfortunately it was not possible to continue the race.
The sister car struggled with fast laps and a trouble-free drive through the field of strong competitors and reached a remarkable 19th place.
The next event to the NLS takes place tomorrow. The qualifying decides from 08:30 to 10:00 o'clock about the starting positions, the race start is at 12 o'clock. The livestream on VLN.de starts at 08:15 o'clock.
